Universal City Walk Hollywood, Los Angeles

Universal City Walk Hollywood can be found just outside of the Universal Studios Hollywood gates. Stretching for three blocks, this pedestrian-only entertainment district is a perfect place to spend some considerable time, not to mention money. In addition to a number of brand-name stores, Universal City Walk Hollywood also boasts a multiple-screen movie theater, a performing arts amphitheater that can accommodate up to 6,200 people, and a bowling alley. Add in the Universal City Walk restaurants, and there is something for everyone to enjoy at this mixed-use wonderland.

Universal City Walk Hollywood is akin to the City Walks in Orlando, Florida, and Osaka, Japan. The different complexes offer different architectural styles and attractions, but all in all, they follow the same idea. In addition to shopping, watching a movie, taking in the performing arts, and dining at a number of restaurants, visitors to the various City Walk centers can enjoy some exciting nightlife. Hanging out at the Hard Rock Café or visiting one of the three on-site nightclubs is always an option when it comes to after hours things to do at Universal City Walk.

Between the Universal City Walk restaurants, shops, clubs, and other attractions, it can be easy to get stuck here for the better part of a day. In fact, you just might need a few days to enjoy everything that this family-friendly entertainment complex has to offer. For those who don't want to stray too far from City Walk once the complex closes, staying at a nearby hotel is worth considering.

The Hilton Los Angeles Universal City and the Sheraton Universal Hotel figure among the more upscale hotels near Universal City Walk California, and there are some cheaper options in the area as well. Many of the area hotels offer free transportation to City Walk and Universal Studios. It's worth noting that the hotels in the Universal City Walk area are also well situated for trips to Hollywood, downtown Los Angeles, and a number of great attractions, such as Dodger Stadium.
