While these two Los Angeles airports will be ideal for those who are planning on spending time in Los Angeles County, travelers who are headed for Orange County are likely to prefer the John Wayne Airport in Irvine. This relatively small airport is served by a handful of major airlines, and offers fantastic access to such Orange County hangouts as Newport Beach and Costa Mesa. Anyone visiting Orange County can also consider the Long Beach Municipal Airport. This is the Los Angeles airport for you if you are heading to northern Orange County or you just want to avoid the larger LAX.
Rounding out the Los Angeles area airports is the Ontario International Airport. This relatively obscure Los Angeles airport is typically used by businesspeople who are looking to spend some time at one of the inland communities, such as Riverside or San Bernardino. The Ontario International Airport can also be convenient for those who are headed to Pasadena or the upscale desert hangout of Palm Springs.
Regardless of which Los Angeles airport you choose to arrive at, getting to your intended destination is easy because the fact that the transportation options are relatively replete. For many, renting a car at the airport is the best way to go, while others will opt for an airport shuttle. Trains, buses, and taxis are also available, especially at LAX. It's worth mentioning that many of the Los Angeles hotels offer free shuttle service, which can be both convenient and cost effective.
