County Fair in Los Angeles

The Los Angeles County Fair has been bringing good times to Southern California since its original run in 1922. Whereas it was once held in a former beet field, the LA County Fair now calls the Fairplex home. The Fairplex, or Los Angeles County Fairgrounds, can be found due east of Los Angeles in Pomona. The facilities at Fairplex can handle all kinds of events, such as sporting events, consumer shows, and conventions. The Los Angeles County Fair is the largest county fair in the United States, which may start to give you an idea of just how big the Fairplex grounds are.

More than half a million people attend the LA County Fair every year, and they come to ride the rides, learn about California's agricultural industry, and have an all around good time. The concerts at the Los Angeles County Fair certainly do their part to draw people in, and they feature all kinds of genres. On any given day, you might expect to catch a Latin Music band, some live classic rock, or a local community act. The Los Angeles County Fair concerts might not feature big name acts, but that doesn't mean that they aren't fun. There's something for everyone when it comes to the music lineup, and plenty of other events add even more substance to the festivities.

The LA County Fair enjoys a month-long run, and while it is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, it is open every other day of the week. On days that it is open, the fair features a parade for visitors to enjoy. These fun parades feature various themes, and they can be especially fun for families with kids. As for some of the other things that visitors can expect to enjoy at the Los Angeles County Fairgrounds, they include a senior dance competition, a high-wire thrill show, mini monster truck races, and comedy acts. In other words, variety is the name of the game when it comes to the LA County Fair events.

There is something for everybody to enjoy at the Los Angeles County Fair, and food fanatics should have no trouble finding good things to eat and drink. In addition to all the typical food vendors that you might expect at a county fair, there's also the wine, beer, spirits, and olive oil festival and competitions. For those who prefer riding some rides to sampling some food and drink, the carnival section of the fair has just about every carnival ride imaginable. More than 70 rides await visitors at the Los Angeles County Fairgrounds, and they cater to kids and adults alike.

There is a lot to see and do at the Los Angeles County Fair, and hanging around to catch the nightly fireworks displays is worth considering. Other options for things to do at the fair include checking out the large miniature train displays, seeing what's on display at the other numerous display buildings, and breaking for a picnic in one of the picnic areas. Getting bored at the Los Angeles County Fair is hardly an option, and there are tons of great Los Angeles attractions to enjoy when you're not spending time at the fairgrounds.
